The SN650839 PMU Power Supply Chip (commonly labeled as SN650839ZAJR, P650839, or P650839A0D, and designated in schematics as U7800) is the main System Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) integrated into Apple MacBook Pro logic boards.
This central PMU chip regulates and generates several critical sub-voltage power rails required by the CPU, system controller, and peripheral circuitry. When liquid damage, electrical overstress, or power surges burn or short the SN650839 IC, the logic board will fail to power on entirely or get stuck in a low-power state. Replacing this chip is the standard micro-soldering solution to revive dead boards.
